It took many people from Arratia to factories, to their places of work, but it also brought people from Bilbao to Arratia Valley, to the thermal waters of Artea and Areatza and it also brought keen mountaineers to Mount Gorbea. Women from Arratia used it to carry goods to the market in Bilbao.
